Gateway Project

Purpose

“To encourage young people to complete their education and join the working world with ability and confidence.”

The Promise of Gateway

ACT promotes “Gateway” as a vehicle which will provide innovative opportunities for young people to take further responsibility for themselves and gain particular life-skills that are not otherwise available to them. Through that child-centred, opportunity-led process, “Gateway” will strengthen their capacity to complete their education and approach the world of further education and work with confidence and enthusiasm.

The Youth Cafe

Housed within the Gateway Project is the Youth Cafe, “a place of their own”, which is run by a committee elected by the young people. They have also selected a name for the Youth Cafe “Youth Booth”
